About us

Portrait picture of the founder of the Body Rhythm Festival in Hamburg - Ben Schütz.
Ben Schütz

Producer/ Artistic Director

I am Ben Schütz, founder of the Body Rhythm Festival – the first international festival for body percussion in Germany. Since 2015, I have welcomed around 200 participants from all over the world to workshops and performances every year. I share my knowledge of body percussion at music colleges, universities and Goethe Institutes – and support choirs, teachers and drama students in their rhythmic development. I have taught and performed worldwide – from Europe to China to Latin America. My training in percussion and music education at the Music College Hannover, as well as inspiring experiences in São Paulo, Brazil, continue to shape my holistic teaching style to this day.

Lenja Rother

Co-Producer

My name is Lenja Rother and I have been part of the Body Rhythm Festival since 2019, which I have been co-producing since 2024. It is a safe, inspiring space where music connects people.
With enthusiasm and curiosity, I am constantly discovering new things – through playing the piano, yoga, tango, language and painting courses, or when travelling on foot, by bike or under sail. As a freelance consultant and coach, I have been accompanying individuals and teams on their journey towards value-based living and working since 2019. My heartfelt passion is sustainability – for a world in which economic activity is in harmony with ethical values and our environment. This attitude also shapes my commitment to the festival.

Thanks for 12 wonderful years!
